Riboflavin

Riboflavin wird auch als Lactoflavin oder Vitamin B2 bezeichnet und gehört somit zu einem Vitamin aus dem B-Komplex. Als Baustein von Koenzymen spielt Riboflavin eine bedeutende Rolle für den Stoffwechsel und zahlreiche Stoffwechselreaktionen. So ist das Vitamin beispielsweise an der Umwandlung von Eiweißen, Fetten und Kohlenhydraten in Energie beteiligt oder unterstützt die Aufgaben und Funktionen von Vitamin B6 sowie Niacin.

Das Vitamin ist in tierischen Nahrungsmitteln wie zum Beispiel Milch und Milchprodukten, Fleisch, Fisch oder Leber enthalten, aber auch in pflanzlichen Lebensmitteln wie Erbsen, Brokkoli oder Getreideprodukten zu finden. In der Regel wird der tägliche Bedarf an Vitamin B2 über die Ernährung abgedeckt.

Besteht jedoch ein Mangel an Riboflavin, kann sich dieser durch folgende Symptome äußern:

Der tägliche Bedarf an Riboflavin liegt für Erwachsene zwischen 1,2mg und 1,5mg.
